It's Been A While...

Checkers on the Porch of Cracker Barrel after a baseball tournament...we've had lots of those (travel tournaments). 

Although we just took a nice break from  ball for Fall Break. We have two more tournaments in this season.

Ethan went to the dentist for a routine cleaning...no cavities!! Yay! He hadn't had ANY ever and his four year old brother had already had one. I think it's because Landen loves Starbursts & Tootsie Rolls, ha!

Ethan got in the truck in day a month ago and said "Mom, I have a girlfriend!" I was NoT expecting that one!! I said "When did I approve that idea?" And he grinned and said "Mom! It's not serious...it's just,  I like her and she likes me." So I asked how this came to be and he said she wrote him a note that read "Do you like me? Check yes or no." And he checked both boxes and wrote "maybe" at the bottom! I said, "Ethan! That wasn't very nice!" And he said "Well, I kind of do and kind of don't Mom...I should be honest right?" Poor girl probably has a complex now!

Anyway, her name is Cheyenna and he assured me that there would be NO kissing. Although he said he might hold her hand (ugh!) and hug her (double ugh!). To which I replied "You can't be doing that at school you will get into trouble!" And he said "What about when she comes to our house Mom?" I about had a heart attack!!!! That's a negative,  child! Absolutely NO home visits!! 

Throughout the entire conversation he had the biggest grin on his sweet face and then while we're driving home he says "Mom, my heart feels all warm." I don't even know what I said to that but my heart broken in that moment, lol, where did my little baby boy go?!?!? 

I'm supposed to be the only female in his life at least for the next five years, right??

As I write this, Cheyenna & Ethan are no longer an item (Thank God! Ha!) Guess they didn't  like each other as much as they might have thought. He didn't seem too broken up about it, thankfully. And I think my mama heart might be back in tact...until the next Cheyenna comes along. Pray for me!!
