A Busy but Beautiful Weekend

Friday night we went to Hobby Lobby to pick up decor for Josh's new office. Landen wanted me to take his picture with the metal airplanes. He just had to bring one home to add to the planes already in his room.

After Hobby Lobby, we had dinner at Shogun. Ethan had been looking forward to eating there all week and bringing a buddy along was just icing on the cake.

Landen wasn't feeling it...

Saturday we met up with our church family at Chaney's for a little fun in the farm. First, we had a meal and then played games in the meeting room...

Then, we went on a hayride...

And petted the calves...

Next, we played on the playground...

And last we had ice cream and watched a movie, The Incredibles, during which the boys fell asleep on a quilt, so we headed on home.

Yesterday, Josh and I went to our first Titan's games. Josh got free box seats through work, so it was awesome! There was an array of food and drinks provided to us. The Titans won! It was a great game, except for Jake Locker having to go to the hospital at the beginning of the third quarter. His hip was injured and he is out for 4-8 weeks, ugh!

The Titans & Jets prayed together after the game.

We can't wait to go to another game and take Ethan with us!

Today we just had a chill day at home. This evening my best little helper enjoyed chopping veges for dinner. ❤

Fishing & Fun...Grilling & Grandparents

Landen enjoys "fishing" in the tub. He has a blast catching the fish and putting them back in. We first name all of their colors and then count them as we put them back.

              Love that sweet smile!

Ethan finished up Fall baseball last week. Now we get a few months break from baseball. I think we're all a little excited about that break...all of us except Josh. He'll get side tracked by deer hunting starting next month and forget all about baseball...well maybe not "all about"but atleast his attention will be diverted. He gets to take Ethan hunting during youth hunt the 2nd weekend in October. Hopefully, he will kill another buck this year!

Landen "grilled" at the ball park. Instead of a chef, he calls himself a "cooker". And then he yells for me to get him some ketchup. Once I handed him the pretend ketchup and he said "now I need yellow ketchup". He makes me laugh!

This week, our preschool story hour was held at the park instead of the library.
Even though L doesn't look thrilled
here, he did have a blast!

               He looks SO grown!

Landen stays with my grandparents on Wednesday and when I pulled in to pick him up this week, this is what I saw...
    Priceless! There's nothing like them
and I'm so glad that my boys get to
share in the love and joy that they
    have always given me.

Baseball, a Birthday, & a Parade

We've been wrapping up Fall baseball. Last week would have been our last two games but they both got rained out, so we will make them up this week instead.

              At Fazoli's after a game.

               Concession stand junkie!

We celebrated Grammy's birthday with cornhole and a fish fry.

Landen helped her blow out her candles.

We sprayed Ethan's hair with colored hairspray for CrAzY hair day at school!

We enjoyed story hour again this week!

On Friday, Landen and I walked to the Homecoming parade with Ethan & his class. It's been an annual tradition for the three of us since Ethan began school. Landen wasn't too excited about going because he said "The ma-ching band is too woud!". So, I promised he could wear his sound-blocking headphones and he was game! We took popsicles for Ethan's class to eat when we returned from the parade and boy were they a hit! Everyone was hot from walking back. Landen sure enjoyed the treat too!

Library Fun & Labor Day Weekend

Our friends/neighbors invited us to the preschool story hour at our local library, last week. I am so glad that we accepted and met up with them there. Landen gets very little interaction with kids his age, so this was very good for him and he had a blast! They sang songs, listened to stories, reviewed colors, focuses on the letter "L", tried lemons, had a snack, and made a craft.

Landen enjoyed playing with his friend he already knew...

And making new friends...

We plan to try and make the story hour a part of our weekly routine.

We spent Labor Day weekend at the lake with my parents and brother and sister-in-law. We spent almost all day Saturday in the pool.

            {Swimming with Grammy}

On Sunday we went to the shooting range for some target practice...

We finished off the weekend riding the utv through mud holes at LBL and swimming a little more!

Seeing a Show, Sam's, & Selfies

We had bought tickets back in March to go see Phil and Kay Robertson in Glasgow on Saturday 8/17. Ethan is obsessed with Duck Dynasty! Of course, since we were in Glasgow, we had to have dinner at my favorite restaraunt...Colton's Steakhouse. The Captain D's beside it had a welcome sign up for Phil and Miss Kay. Ethan thought that was neat!

He fell asleep on the ride over and wasn't in the best of moods when we woke him up.

It didn't take him long to share that sweet smile though...

The lights were out for the first part of the show, so the picture of Miss Kay has a strange color.

Phil is a great speaker who is very knowledgable about history and the Bible. Josh and I could have listened to him talk all evening but Ethan got bored. He wanted to hear more about the show. And honestly a lot of the topics were too in depth for Ethan to understand. I think Ethan was a little dissapointed. So we went for ice cream afterward. Maybe if Willie or Jase ever come near home we'll get to go see them. I feel like they would talk more about the show in general.

Last Wednesday I had lunch with Ethan at school. He chose his friend Isaiah to sit with us and they talked about Xbox games the entire time. It was fun to get to meet his new classmate. I also hadn't met his reading teacher yet. She was there at open house but was busy with other students and parents. She came up to the table at lunch and Ethan introduced us as he hugged her. She went on to tell me how much she loves Ethan. I'm so glad that he is well behaved, hard working, and very much loved by his teachers. It makes sending him to school each day so much easier than it would be otherwise.

Thursday night, after Ethan's baseball lesson we went to Sam's. Landen saw this bed, climbed up and yelled "Mom, look at me...take a pitch'a!" Ethan, of course, wanted in on the relaxation too.

Landen got my phone and had a "selfie" photo session without me knowing. I found these over the weekend. They made me smile...

Speaking of the weekend, I had an awesome girl's weekend in Gatlinburg. So Josh had the boys by himself all weekend. They must have had a blast because Ethan is already asking for a weekend for just he and his dad to hang out (without Landen). That will suit Landen just fine...he missed his mama a lot. When I got home Sunday night he said "You sleep with me, Mama?" I think he was worried that I might leave again. Sweet baby!

A Week of Firsts for E

Ethan went back to school on Wednesday. We began the morning with pancakes...his favorite!

He is now a big 3rd grader! He was only a little nervous...worried they might begin solving division problems on the first day. I assured him that probably wouldn't be the case.

He didn't want me to walk him into school. This is his third year in the same school so he feels very comfortable there. i couldnt be more proud of him! We are very excited for a wonderful school year!

On Wednesday evening, Ethan had baseball practice in BG. He chose Cheddar's for dinner afterward and Landen had to check out the water fall as he does every time we go there. He thinks it is the neatest thing!

Last night was Ethan's first Fall league game. They won 6-3! It's all new to him...his peers pitching (instead of the coach), stealing bases, secret signs from the coach, etc. but we're hoping it will help him to learn and grow. He will begin playing the same type of baseball in our hometown community next Spring.

This Saturday morning we are just relaxing at home. Landen slept in...9am but Ethan was up at 7am sharp...he's back on school schedule. They're enjoying a game of Minecraft on the Xbox and we're anticipating a fun evening!
