It's Been A While...

Checkers on the Porch of Cracker Barrel after a baseball tournament...we've had lots of those (travel tournaments).
Although we just took a nice break from  ball for Fall Break. We have two more tournaments in this season.

Ethan went to the dentist for a routine cleaning...no cavities!! Yay! He hadn't had ANY ever and his four year old brother had already had one. I think it's because Landen loves Starbursts & Tootsie Rolls, ha!

    Keeping Miss Kloee...they're so sweet
    with her!!

Ethan got in the truck in day a month ago and said "Mom, I have a girlfriend!" I was NoT expecting that one!! I said "When did I approve that idea?" And he grinned and said "Mom! It's not serious...it's just,  I like her and she likes me." So I asked how this came to be and he said she wrote him a note that read "Do you like me? Check yes or no." And he checked both boxes and wrote "maybe" at the bottom! I said, "Ethan! That wasn't very nice!" And he said "Well, I kind of do and kind of don't Mom...I should be honest right?" Poor girl probably has a complex now!
Anyway, her name is Cheyenna and he assured me that there would be NO kissing. Although he said he might hold her hand (ugh!) and hug her (double ugh!). To which I replied "You can't be doing that at school you will get into trouble!" And he said "What about when she comes to our house Mom?" I about had a heart attack!!!! That's a negative,  child! Absolutely NO home visits!!
Throughout the entire conversation he had the biggest grin on his sweet face and then while we're driving home he says "Mom, my heart feels all warm." I don't even know what I said to that but my heart broken in that moment, lol, where did my little baby boy go?!?!?
I'm supposed to be the only female in his life at least for the next five years, right??

As I write this, Cheyenna & Ethan are no longer an item (Thank God! Ha!) Guess they didn't  like each other as much as they might have thought. He didn't seem too broken up about it, thankfully. And I think my mama heart might be back in tact...until the next Cheyenna comes along. Pray for me!!

End of a Summer Break 2014

Axel is learning to drive...I'm kidding! He IS growing at an amazing speed and eating our dinner every chance he gets. Yes, I said OUR dinner....long story!

Ethan took a blow to the forehead during baseball practice. Someone yelled "heads up" and when he looked up...well, his head met the ball!

We had cousins over to play...

This is how my sweet boys fell asleep one evening...holding hands on the couch.

We played on the playground at the park...

We went to a train show...

We took Ethan to his first concert at the Grand Ole Opry. We saw Lennon & Maisy, The Band Perry, & Carrie Underwood. All awesome performers!

We went to a Reds game...✔️ a 2nd major league park off our "to see" list...

Landen had Strep and just kept cheesin'.

We played out first travel tournament and lost...but had fun...

We decked Axel out in Cubs gear...

We went to our 2nd Hot Rods game of the season...

Landen took swim lessons and LOVED it!

Chicago 2014

For Father's Day, the boys and I bought Josh tickets to a cubs game at Wrigley Field. It's something he's been wanting to do for a while now but just wouldn't plan. So I bit the bullet (price wise) and surprised him with great seats for the Cubs vs. Braves game this past weekend. Wrigley Field is a place he's always wanted to visit and the Cubs are near and dear to his heart because his grandfather (who raised him but passed before Josh and I met) was a huge Cubs fan. So, to Chicago we went...

This is our 1st night there. On our walk to dinner the boys saw this fountain and had to throw pennies in.

This is at dinner at Giordano's where they serve authentic Chicago deep dish pizza.

The boys were living the tv in the bathroom. Taking a bath became a passtime for them.

The first full day there we checked out Navy Pier and it did not dissapoint...

           Driving R/C boats...

             Riding the carousel

The Ferris wheel...our boys weren't interested in riding at all but they loved looking at it all lit up at night.

We checked out the Chicago Children's Museum....
